    Skookumchuck Rapids
    Twice daily, high tides force an astonishing amount of water through the passage between the Sechelt and Jervis inlets. This natural spectacle draws kayakers from all over the world, who come to experience the thrill of these rapids, also known as the Sechelt rapids. Low tide at the rapids reveals a rich marine habitat, and the surrounding Skookumchuck Provincial Park has a network of scenic hiking trails.

    Powell Lake
    Powell Lake boasts 300 kms of picturesque shoreline, filled with snowcapped mountains, streams and waterfalls. Canoeists, hikers and house boaters are fond of the area. As well, anglers and water frolickers will not be disappointed with a visit to the lake.

    Princess Louisa Inlet & Provincial Marine Park
    This natural attraction is known worldwide for its spectacular scenery. The combination of gentle glistening beauty and powerfully crashing waterfalls make it one of BC's top attractions.     Stillwater Timberlands
    The Stillwater Timberlands is an area comprised of many backcountry freshwater lakes, including Lois, Nanton and Dodd, among others. Goat Lake acts as a gateway to these lakes, and most sites include basic camping facilities (pit toilets and picnic tables are considered a luxury at some of these spots). Most of the lakes are on either the Powell Forest Canoe Route, the Sunshine Coast Trail, or both.

    Strait of Georgia
    Named after George Vancouver of Great Britain in 1792, the Strait of Georgia runs for 250 km (150 mi) between Vancouver Island and mainland British Columbia. The strait connects with Puget Sound in the south and Johnstone Strait in the north and contains several islands, including the Gulf Islands. As well as being a popular body of water for diving and whale-watching, the strait is a major navigation channel for ferries and cruise ships.

    Sechelt Marsh
    Once a beaver pond, this marsh-turned-park is home to many species of waterfowl, all of whom are eager to scam some munchies off of those unsuspecting humans passing by. The scenic area features a walking path, allowing visitors to comprehensively explore the marsh. Located at Wharf Street and Porpoise Bay.

    Powell River Forest Canoe Route
    Meandering through stunning inlets and forests, this scenic route can be conquered by novices as well as experienced canoers. Extreme outdoor enthusiasts can experience the route in its entirety, from Lois Lake to Powell Lake. The full journey takes about a week, and is best done in the summer months, as the waters can be dangerous from November to March.

    The Toba Inlet
    This isolated fjord is an ideal spot for solitude-craving adventurers. This is a place where pristine glacial waters meet with snow-caped mountains and lush forest. Hiking, fishing, kayaking and wildlife viewing opportunities are available to those who find a way to get to this remote place. Toba Inlet is located north of Desolation Sound, 160 km from Vancouver, and is accessible via plane or water taxi from Campbell River. It is also accessible via Lund and Powell River.
