    Mowat Bay Beach
    This sunny family-friendly beach is located on Powell Lake, and has a picnic area, playground, boat launch and washroom facilities. The waters are often clear, making this beach an ideal spot for swimming or sunbathing.

    Jack Road Beach
    Visitors must take a short hilly walk to get to the beach, but once they're there, they won't want to turn back. The area has a wonderful viewing platform with a memorial bench and the long beach is perfect for sunset strolls.

    Davis Bay Beach
    This long stretch of beach is a hotspot during the summer months, and is home to plenty of activities, including sandcastle building, kayaking, skimboarding and plain old swimming. There are plenty of shops nearby, including an ice-cream vendor to help people cool down.

    Welbourne Cove
    Easily accessible from Madeira Park, Welbourn Cove is a short stroll from the town centre and features a marina, picnic area and a cultural centre.

    Prideaux Haven
    The beach is rocky and crustecean-filled (visitors are advised to always look before they sit down), but people nonetheless continue to flock to this isolated area in the Desolation Sound Provincial Park. Accessible only by boat, this little bay has surprisingly warm (24ºC, 75ºF)water and plenty of hidden caverns.

    Palm Beach
    Located between Powell River and Saltery Bay, this beach is in the Lang Bay area. The sand is perfect for sun soakers and castle builders. A large playing field is adjacent the beach.

    Roberts Creek Beach
    This wild stretch of coast is a natural paradise, waiting to be explored. Surf shoes (or old running shoes) are a must if you're planning on swimming or scampering around on the rocky headlands searching for starfish, eels and other marine life. The headland observation area with hand-hewn benches and indigenous wildflowers is a neat addition. Craft stores and a funky little restaurant within easy walking distance make a visit here feel like a trip back into the "Love, Peace and Happiness" days.

    This secluded beach is accessible via a scenic creekside trail that meanders through deep forest and over meandering brooks. The beach itself is quiet and peaceful and a must-see for wildlife enthusiasts.

    Gibson's Beach
    This often uncrowded beach has interspersed sandy and rocky areas. This spot is a great place for beachcombing, picnicking or exploring. The name can be deceiving, since the beach is located near Powell River, not Gibsons. Located 12km from Powell River off of Highway 101.

    Second Beach
    Also known as Hulks Beach, Second Beach is a local favorite when it is time to beat the heat. Located south of the mill breakwater, right below Larch Ave, the beach is accessible by a small hike from Willingdon Beach Trail.

    This small beach has an excellent swimming area, as well as a scenic picnic area. The large natural rock formations are an added attraction to this pleasant park. Located at the junction of Flume Road and Beach Avenue.
